Ultimate OptimismResilience for Sustainable Performance: The power of enabled optimism (keynote and/or workshop). Resilience is the new tool for improved performance. Resilience that sustains energy and drive over the long term can come from consciously tapping into the strong connections between thoughts, actions and behaviours. Research into people as diverse as elite athletes and polar adventurers have found that our thoughts (self-talk) rapidly turn into beliefs, and these beliefs can quickly become habitual behaviours. The orientation and implementation of this process can mean the difference between giving up easily and persevering through to success. People who are able to establish positive thought patterns have, for example, been found to be more productive in all areas of their lives, staying healthier and engaging in empowering language and behaviours which also influences those around them. When individuals can control these thought patterns, they work with more focus, achieve more, find themselves in less conflict, and feel more enthusiastic in the work environment. This positive mindset gives the ability and flexibly draw on and apply as many different resources and skills as necessary to solve a problem or work towards a goal. When combined with the powerful ‘breakout principle’ – a paradoxical active-passive dynamic that uses simple techniques to balance energy, it is possible to ensure the individual is in peak condition to develop resilience and cope with challenges. Designed to help refocus… rebalance… and realign life values. Sessions provide the master tools needed to tune up and to get into shape mentally, physically and emotionally. Information about the latest psychological and physiological research is combined with simple practical exercises, targeted group discussions and focused relaxation opportunities. By the end of the session, participants have practical action plans for immediate implementation – and a more positive approach to life and work.

How is it possible to take time to make time?
There is a new approach to the old balanced lifestyle conundrum. Rather than focusing on time management, this approach focuses on managing energy effectively through directed attention and ‘full engagement’. Research now shows that athletes who successfully alternate periods of high pressure training with focused rest and recovery achieve the greatest results, and likewise individuals from all walks of life can learn to ‘find a rhythm’ and achieve maximum performance and satisfaction in life and work through applying these principles.
