DiSC Behavior Profiling Information

Maximizing performance

We are all different, and it is those differences that can make our work teams more efficient and effective. Heterogeneous teams (those with mixed behavioral, thinking and learning styles), can reach far more creative and superior solutions to problem solving than homogeneous teams – but only if they are managed effectively.

Research evidence supports the conclusion that the most effective people are those who know themselves, recognize the demands of a situation, and adapt strategies to meet those needs. By maximizing strengths and minimizing weaknesses, leaders can ensure that individuals are able to perform to potential. These keynotes, seminars and DiSC personal profiles will enable participants to:

  • Identify behavioral, character and temperament profiles
  • Capitalize on strengths
  • Anticipate and minimize potential problems and conflict
  • Read and understand others better

About the DiSC profiling tool

Tirian uses DiSC as a tool to help individuals and teams understand their strengths and weaknesses. We have our own unique way of teaching DiSC to ensure long lasting use. Personal profiling systems such as DiSC have unlocked the door to productive communication and relationships for more than 20 years and for over 30 million people. Personal profile systems can present a plan to help you understand yourself and others in a specific environment. Through using these profiles it is possible to understand your behavior and temperament and identify the environment most conducive for personal and organizational success. At the same time, you can learn about the ways others differ, and the different environments people need for maximum productivity and teamwork in an organization.

The DiSC model does not measure personalities but rather behavior in a specific situation. Unlike other profiles, the DiSC model assumes that people have the ability to choose their preferred style and behave in a manner they have some control over. Although we all tend to have a default behavior style, by being aware of the process we are able to understand ourselves and those we deal with to ensure we can gain maximum benefit out of any situation.

As leaders we can either assess the environment and the other players to ensure we will behave in a way that brings out the best in all, or we can create an environment that encourages the skills needed to succeed.

DiSC profiling has been used in many areas including:

  • Team Development
  • Leadership
  • Change Management
  • Negotiation
  • Sales
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Recruiting

Quote from an article in the Australian Financial Review. 01/04
"Tirian began with leadership training for the hospitality industry, including for the acclaimed Four Seasons Resort in Bali. Christopher Norton, regional vice president and general manager for Four Season Asia Pacific, says Tirian’s program for the top 11 executives helped identify personality types and ways to work with different approaches." ‘‘The resort moved into the best years that it had ever had. It was a very solid team, and Tirian really helped us to understand its dynamics,’’ Norton says.
