Everyone acts according to how they think other people expect them to act.  This behavior is the public self, the person projected to others. Everyone has learned responses from the past: consequently, these are behaviors which the person accepts about him/herself. Everyone envisions him/herself in a particular way.  Graph 3 displays the mental picture that one has of him/herself, the self image or identity.

Attainer

"Name" is motivated by his ability to lead groups and influence others around him. He is someone who takes the responsibility of leadership seriously when it is given to him, and is typically able to make important decisions without delay. He exudes confidence and others respond to "Name's" natural ability to be a front runner.

Recognizing the value of a good relationship, "Name" is very patient and caring when relating to others. He is even-paced; and usually remains calm and relaxed, even in situations that may ruffle some others. He likes the role of a peacemaker, when working through problems, "Name" tries to rely on successful strategies that have proven results.

"Name" will usually test ideas against proven standards in an effort to be inventive; and can be very creative as he identifies new solutions to problems. He is an original and creative thinker, but acts in a rational way to make sure desired results are achieved in an orderly manner; although he is not afraid to "break the mold" if that appears to be the key to a solution.

"Name" prefers a rational and moderate approach when first entering new situations and tries to avoid extremes. He likes the company of others, but "Name" is equally comfortable spending a quiet evening alone. He is a realist who will always weigh his options before he makes a decision to move ahead. © The Institute for Motivational Living, Inc.  All rights reserved.)

In The Media

From an article in the Australian Financial Review 01/04:
"Tirian began with leadership training for the hospitality industry, including for the acclaimed Four Seasons Resort in Bali. Christopher Norton, regional vice president and general manager for Four Season Asia Pacific, says Tirian’s program for the top 11 executives helped identify personality types and ways to work with different approaches." ‘‘The resort moved into the best years that it had ever had. It was a very solid team, and Tirian really helped us to understand its dynamics,’’ Norton says.
