PAKs outline
Tirian's Health Education PAKs (ProActive Kits) are designed to assist with implementing health education programs in schools and/or communities in developing areas.
The PAKs enable local organisations to deliver high impact workshops that empower individuals to enhance their own health and improve their own quality of life and that of their families and community.
PAKs currently available:
"Be Healthy, Be Happy: Sehat, Senang"
Junior primary school program:
• HEALTHY PERSONAL HABITS: ‘I can BE HEALTHY’
Each person is responsible for their own health care and basic waste disposal and hygiene; neglecting these can cause unnecessary health problems, managing these well improves the quality of life for individuals and communities. These modules provide practical guidance for improving personal health and community health:• FOOD FOR LIFE: Choosing a healthy balanced diet
• WASTE IN ITS PLACE: Knowing how to deal with waste
Senior primary school program:
• HEALTHY ENVIRONMENTS: ‘WE can BE HEALTHY’
Communities must work together to create safe and healthy environments (eg in the home, school, industrial/workplaces, public areas, recreational areas etc). These modules introduce basic issues to consider and practical ways to improve environments:• DEALING WITH DISEASE: Prevention & response
• CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT: Awareness
PAKs training program
The PAK train-the-trainer program enables ongoing community health education through a simple training process.
This process enables communities to maintain health awareness and continued education through training local partner NGOs and/or community members (teachers, health workers etc).
