Trent Newman
Trent Newman is a passionate learner-communicator, and empathic cross-cultural educator. Trent has facilitated post-conflict rehabilitation programs in refugee camps and divided communities in Northern Uganda and Bosnia Herzegovina, as well as counselling migrant and refugee communities in the US and Australia. As a result of his work in Peace Education and his outstanding ability to identify and articulate sources of conflict, division, exclusion, and misunderstanding, Trent has been invited to speak at a number of international conferences, including global gatherings held at Columbia University, New York, Birmingham, UK, and Malacca, Malaysia. Trent completed his Masters in Education and Cultural Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was also invited to design and co-teach a new undergraduate course on Youth Agency & Structural Violence, in addition to guest lecturing in several education and international relations subjects. Finding greatest fulfillment and success in terms of outcomes for all participants in small group, long-term, participatory experiences, Trent actively seeks opportunities for collaborative connection and relationship building in his work as well as the rest of his life.
