Mark Jones is a technology strategist and journalist who is able to present on his areas of expertise in a relevant and engaging manner. He is a respected subject matter authority on technology, internet and social media trends, having worked in the media and technology industry for more than a decade. Mark is a former IT Editor of The Australian Financial Review, and managing editor of the Financial Review’s MIS Magazine – Australia’s leading magazine for CIOs and senior technology executives. Since launching Filtered Media in April 2007, Mark has helped some of Australia’s biggest companies develop enterprise technology and digital media strategies. He speaks regularly at industry events, and hosts workshops for corporate clients. He has delivered keynotes, moderated panels and acted as MC at conferences in Australia and the United States before a wide range of audiences. Clients say they hire Mark for his deep understanding of technology, future trends, IT powerbrokers, and why new technologies will impact the bottom line.
Mark’s journalism career has included three years at respected IT industry magazine InfoWorld where he was Executive News Editor and where he interviewed industry leaders including Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer; Sun Microsystems CEO Scott McNealy; Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak; Dell founder and CEO Michael Dell; and Salesforce.com founder and CEO Marc Benioff. Mark is now producer and host of The Scoop, a popular business technology podcast and vodcast published by The Australian Financial Review’s MISaustralia.com. He also conducts video interviews with national and international business leaders for the AFR’s multimedia portal tv.afr.com.
