Reluctant Participant Group
Private wealth management investment bank / Hong Kong / 60 pax
About:
- Participants from this bank were coerced into going offsite by the management team. Most of them gave excuses that they were too busy or this was not for them. Tirian had prior warning that not all the participants had bought into the idea of an offsite conference.
Purpose:
- In the morning, the bank had planned a technical session looking at figures, and they had an awards dinner in the evening.
- Tirian was asked to provide an afternoon program as the bank was keen to take full advantage of the rare opportunity of having all these key people in one place at the same time.
- The management team recognized that it was important for the participants to see the value in working as a team and sharing ideas and issues across functions and countries.
Solution:
- Tirian provided a very entertaining and intelligent version of ‘On Thin ICE’
Outcomes:
“The program for our Investment Professionals was not only entertaining and informative, but also highly relevant to our group. We appreciate the time you took for us before and after the program and appreciate your personal touch and passion for what you do. Many expressed how their initial skepticism for 'team-building' was very quickly dissolved from the on-set of the program. They unanimously agree that the time went past in a flash and found concrete take-aways from the activities. A resounding theme from the participants was the gratitude and surprise on the upside, that their intellects were not insulted!
