Amandari Resorts
CASE STUDY:
Creating the Amandari story
Amandari is a multiple award winning high end resort that models around traditional Balinese village in Ubud.
Recently Amandari engaged Tirian to help all staff truly understand what their mission vision and values meant and how this could be so integrated into the staffs minds that it would naturally flow thorough to the guest experience. - As the hotel chain reached its visionary 20 year old milestone it was imperative that it continued to be at the leading edge of defining the ultimate hotel experience.
As a result of the 2 day Mission Possible workshop (first ran with the regional GMS and then the local Amandari teams) each executive staff member was asked to paint what their mission statement and values meant to them. - This was patricianly engaging exercise as the Balinese are a very artistic culture.
- Many of the staff are local Ubud villages that grew up expressing themselves through art and painting.
- For them to now integrate their talent with the hotels mission statement was something that thoroughly engaged them and gave them a sense of ownership and pride.
Instantly the values and missions statement that were created in words now had real meaning to the locals.- This quickly flowed through to the guest experience as every action and behaviour of the staff was guided by the paintings and metaphors they could relate to from their own culture.
