When it comes to change management- too much emphasis is placed on "strategic fit" and insufficient effort is put into to overcoming cultural differences  A study of 230 merging or acquiring companies found that 58 per cent of mergers failed to reach the goals they set out to achieve, neither increasing the merging companies’ stock prices nor their profitability – and often doing the opposite.
