This program is designed to help participants understand the elements of good communication and to improve personal communication in the area of presenting. The course is based on experiential learning, and places great emphasis on helping individual presenters to develop their training skills and match them to the appropriate situation. There are many generic skills that a presenter needs to learn, but it is also important that each presenter finds a style that they are comfortable with and suits them and their group. As the facilitator takes the participants through the course there are plenty of opportunities to experience and feedback on the process.

For individuals who need to present ideas and information, providing practice in presenting ideas and concepts clearly and effectively. By identifying strengths and weaknesses in preparing and delivering presentations, strategies can be devised which will assist individuals.

Through this course participants will learn to:

·      Analyse audience and environment to prepare for a presentation

·      Plan a presentation

·      Organise information and ideas to form clear and logical arguments

·      Develop skills in presenting

·      Deliver effective high impact presentations

 

Train-The-Trainer

-          Identify the characteristics of an exceptional trainer.

-          Be able to explain how adults differ from children in the way that they learn.

-          Understand and identify different behavioural styles and adapt their training style as necessary. 

-          Understand the trainers' tool chest - icebreakers, energizers, and activities that teach

-          Understand how to create effective visual aids

-          Develop strategies for handling hecklers, bullies, and other participants.

-          Present information in a clear, concise, engaging, manner. 

 Presentation Skills

-          Identify the four essential components of a presentation.

-          Be able to describe an audience analysis and why it is a needed step in a presentation.

-          Organize information in a clear and concise manner.

-          Create an attention grabbing introduction.

-          Implement techniques for varying your vocal tones and body language.

-          Develop strategies for handling hecklers, bullies, and other participants.

-          Point out the highlights and pitfalls of various visual aid options and audience seating arrangements.

-          Begin implementing goals created during the session.

  1. To develop a good communication

By learning to tailor communication to different people and situations, it is possible to streamline messages and presentations and use the best medium to get the message across effectively. This section of the course is designed to improve employer and employee communication, sales teams and client interaction in a cross-cultural environment

  1. To develop confidence in the area of presenting

This course component aims to develop confidence in presenting ideas in clear and logical structures at the same time as helping individuals to recognize individual potential in presentation.

 

  1. Interacting with others

Ways to improve speaking and listening skills. Learning how to communicate a message assertively and confidently, know how to really listen to and understand the intended messages of others. Develop the skills to understand audiences.

 

  1. Presentation (and sales – optional) at the right time, place and environment

Very few people appreciate the importance of creating the right environment when it comes to effective presentation and communication. By creating the right environment and learning to read people it is possible to get right to the key issues.

 

  1. To understand the education behind effective presentation skills

Getting results is not just a matter of finding the right information, but also finding the best methods to ensure that the information is effectively implemented in the workplace. Programs and sessions must be designed to be relevant and internalised in a way that the learnings can be used in the workplace. 

 

Some more specific expected program outcomes can include:

-          Understanding the way people think, behave and learn 

-          Developing body language, eye contact, use of voice in the presentation

-          Analyzing the audience and use the environment to support the presentation
