Business Resilience

Survival: Opportunity in the face of danger

We are facing new social and economic realities. Only yesterday management gurus were expounding the values of a self actualized workforce, but individuals and organizations are now being forced to reassess their vision and values. It feels like someone has repainted the world scenario overnight, and like an unfortunate throw of the dice in Snakes and Ladders, we find ourselves at the bottom again – looking at simple survival issues. Clever organizations can find opportunities during these times.

According to Jim Collins in Good to Great, when individuals and organizations are faced with difficult circumstances they can react in three ways:

  1. Permanently dispirited

  2. Try to return to normal

  3. Use the experience as a defining and strengthening event

This powerful and motivating session helps executives and teams  understand ways they can find opportunities and learn through difficult times. This is a great way to increase morale and stimulate action, helping people re-focus and keep a vision.
