No one is an Island

Methods used to achieve the outcomes

To motivate the group, the group will be asked to:

  • Complete simple mental challenges in a game context.

  • Achieve specific goals in a limited time frame.

To develop group attitudes and processes, the group will be asked to:

  • Participate in group problem solving activities and reflect on these.

  • Develop change management strategies to effectively adapt to the changing circumstances in the game.

  • Discuss and identify practical applications of these strategies for the workplace.

Description

  • No One is an Island includes basic initiative activities such as the spiders web, muse, blindfolded maze etc.

  • For some activities the focus is on mental problem solving, while others require more of a low impact physical team challenge.

  • Tirian themes up these activities into a fast paced challenge forcing groups to prioritize and manage their time effectively.

  • Includes approximately 7- 10 activities.

  • The actual exercise lasts for around 2.5 hours.

  • An introduction (1/2 – 2 hrs) and debrief (1/2 – 2 hrs) are integrated by a professional facilitator to  ensure the program is placed into a context.

Please note: It is important to check prior experience participants may have had with team building.  Tirian’s Endangered adds another dimension to the concept by creating additional activities to help people learn to mange micro and macro issues as a team and communicate under pressure. Endangered runs at a very fast pace with more complex tasks)
