We are all different, and it is those differences
that can make our work teams more efficient and effective. Heterogeneous
teams (mixed behavioural, thinking and learning styles), if managed
effectively can reach far more creative and superior solutions to problem
solving than Homogeneous teams. To optimize team performance, it is
essential that heterogeneous teams learn to build a climate which not only
tolerate differences but actually celebrate them. If left un managed,
often differences become a threat and hinder progress in teams.
DESCRIPTION
..
"No One is an Island" is a fun and focused way to understand
and utilise different roles within a team. This workshop involves
participants in physically challenging "Island Hopping"
activity, which explores forms of communication and interaction and then
provides the opportunity to analyze these in the context of the regular
work environment. This program is designed to build group morale and
ensure a positive group awareness for working successful.
Understanding
Personalities and Behaviours
After completing
the experiential learning activity "Island Hopping", the group
can be led deeper through a process of self discovery that will help them
look at the personalities and behaviours that come together to make the
team. This session will help individuals understand how people can use
their differences to work together rather than simply experiencing them as
a cause of conflict, helping also to explain why people behave the way
they do. The group will be able to look closely at both behaviours and
personalities, examining what can and cannot be changed and how to work
with the situation

"You quickly and perceptively
understood our strong company culture. What you gave us was a better
understanding of the group dynamics and a better way to benefit from
unrecognized strengths, opening up important sources of talent and energy
that we had not recognized. Even to this day your input still has an
impact on how we solve problems and work together as a team."

“Highly
effective – all participants were highly engaged for the entire time.
Transferred to the workplace, the skills discussed will improve the
speed in which teams get started and increase the quality of their
results.”
